POKOTABI / Yakiniku Sanseien
焼肉 三正園
In the Tsukishima and Tsukuda area, Yakiniku Sanseien serves generously thick salted beef tongue, a range of loin cuts and its special steamed oxtail. The menu also offers plenty of rice dishes and noodles, including bibimbap and udon.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Salted beef tongue and skirt steak are classic first orders: grill them slowly over the net until fragrant, letting the excess fat drip away. At Yakiniku Sanseien in the Tsukishima and Tsukuda area, loin comes in several grades, from regular to medium, premium and special. Choose between a sauce or salt seasoning and take your time over the meat. There is also a broad choice of grilled cuts and offal, including kaimino, sasami and tatebara, as well as rarer cuts such as tomosankaku and kamenoko, so you can put together a spread to suit your appetite.
Between rounds of grilled meat, try the special steamed oxtail, available in different sizes, or snacks such as sliced senmai tripe and Korean-style sliced squid. To finish, there are warming rice dishes including crisp-edged stone-pot bibimbap, mentaiko stone-pot bibimbap and tail zosui, a rice porridge served for two. Noodles such as yukgaejang udon, kalbi udon and garlic udon make for an especially substantial dinner.
Alongside draft beer, the drinks list includes refreshing fresh-lemon sours and gyokuro tea highballs, as well as Tiger makgeolli and Chamisul. Dinner service begins at 17:00, and the restaurant is suited to group meals. If you have settled on a visit, it is worth considering a reservation in advance.
